Unity of Hearts and Purpose: Hon’ble Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and Speaker Vijender Gupta Pay Tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on His 150th Birth Anniversary”

Unity is not created by bricks and stones, unity arises from emotion and emotion arises from thought,” said Hon’ble Governor of Bihar, Shri Arif Mohammad Khan, while addressing a Symposium organised at the Delhi Legislative Assembly on the occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Floral tributes were offered to the statue of Shri Vithalbhai Patel in the presence of Hon’ble Speaker Shri Vijender Gupta, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker Shri Mohan Singh Bisht, Delhi Cabinet Minister Shri Kapil Mishra, and Ms. Niranjanaben Kalarthi, Administrator, Swaraj Ashram, Bardoli (Gujarat). A special exhibition titled “Sardar Patel and the Journey of India’s Unification” was also inaugurated in the Assembly premises, showcasing rare archival photographs and historical exhibits celebrating the life, vision, and legacy of the Iron Man of India.Vice Chairman of Gandhi Smriti Shri Vijay Goel, Senior Leader Shri Sudhanshu Mittal and other MLAs were also present at the event. Hon’ble Governor underlined that true unity is born from the collective consciousness of a nation. Expressing his gratitude for being invited to speak on ‘Sardar Patel and the Journey of India’s Unification’, he said he was deeply thankful for the opportunity to bow before the sacred soil of the great son of Mother India. He added that to fulfil the resolve of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji to make India a developed and leading nation, “we must constantly recall and reawaken the ideals and values for which Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel dedicated his entire life.” Shankaracharya established the spiritualDrawing an inspiring parallel between Adi Shankaracharya and Sardar Patel, Shri Khan noted that just as Adi Shankaracharya established the spiritual unity of India through Vedanta, Sardar Patel achieved political unity through courage and conviction. Quoting the timeless lesson from Shankaracharya’s encounter with a Chandala in Varanasi, he said, “true unity is born of the realization that the same divine consciousness dwells within every being.” He emphasized that Sardar Patel’s unification of more than 565 princely states was a historic act of statesmanship — “a task comparable to that of Bismarck in Germany, or perhaps even greater.” Recalling Sardar Patel’s own words at the inauguration of the Indian Union — “After centuries, for the first time in history, India can truly call itself a united and integrated nation” — Shri Khan said that Patel’s vision continues to shape India’s strength and integrity. He lauded the Government of India’s decision, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, to celebrate Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, calling it “a fitting tribute to the Architect of India’s Unity, expressing the gratitude and respect of an entire nation for the man who made India one.” Unity of hearts and purpose“The strength of a nation lies not in its might, but in its unity of hearts and purpose,” said Hon’ble Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Shri Vijender Gupta, while addressing at the Symposium on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He paid tribute to the architect of India’s integration — a leader whose courage and foresight transformed a divided land into one sovereign nation. From the fields of Bardoli to the halls of the Constituent Assembly, Shri Vijender Gupta noted that Sardar Patel’s vision turned hope into harmony and independence into enduring nationhood. Through his diplomacy, determination, and deep faith in the Indian spirit, over 565 princely states were united into one India, and the foundation of a strong administrative framework , the Indian Administrative Service, was laid for generations to come.Hon’ble Speaker Vijender Gupta emphasized that Sardar Patel’s life reminds us that unity is not a slogan, but a sacred duty. He stated that Patel’s ideals of discipline, integrity, and selfless service continue to inspire India’s progress and purpose. As the nation observes Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Shri Gupta urged everyone to rededicate themselves to preserving the unity Sardar Patel built and the values he embodied. Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, he said, the nation reaffirms Sardar Patel’s timeless message — that India’s true strength lies in the unity of its people and the integrity of its institutions.
Sangam Vihar Erupts Over Water Shortage, AAP’s Prem Chauhan Leads Protest Against BJP’s Water Minister Parvesh Verma”

In yet another sign of Delhi’s deepening water crisis, residents of Sangam Vihar erupted in protest on Thursday after the BJP government removed water tankers from the area. Furious over days of severe shortage, locals — led by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Deoli, Prem Chouhan — confronted Delhi’s Water Minister Parvesh Verma during his visit, demanding immediate restoration of tankers or supply through pipelines. The situation turned tense as Delhi Police detained several AAP workers and local residents amid loud slogans accusing the BJP’s “four-engine government” of failing to provide even drinking water to the people of Delhi. Even as temperatures continue to drop, Delhi is facing a worsening water crisis, prompting sharp criticism from, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj. He asserted that the BJP’s “Jhoothi Sarkar” (fraud government) of Delhi has removed water tankers from Sangam Vihar (Deoli Assembly), causing immense hardship to residents. “There is a severe shortage of water. Despite the cold weather and abundant water in the Yamuna — even fit for ritual use — why is Delhi suffering such a shortage?” he asked.Saurabh Bharadwaj added that BJP’s Water Minister Parvesh Verma, who promised ₹1,100 during elections, faced public protest in Sangam Vihar on Thursday, as people demanded that the removed tankers be restored or water supply through pipelines be ensured. During the protest against Water Minister Parvesh VermaDuring the protest against Water Minister Parvesh Verma, AAP MLA from Deoli, Prem Chauhan, said, “We have been continuously trying to meet the Water Minister. Residents of the Devli constituency have complained that earlier 20 government water tankers were provided here, but they have been withdrawn and diverted to the constituency of a BJP MLA. The people here are facing a water tragedy. Earlier, 70 tankers were supplied, and now their number too has been reduced. On top of that, the ₹31 crore fund allocated for Devli constituency has been withdrawn by the BJP government, halting road construction and other developmental works. These are genuine complaints from the people.” Displaying complaint letters from residents, the AAP MLA said, “I will hand over these grievances to BJP Minister Parvesh Verma. These letters represent the voices of thousands of citizens who have approached me through petitions. But the police are stopping me and saying I cannot go there. Parvesh Verma is also a minister for the people of Devli constituency — he must listen to our concerns and resolve the water crisis. Local BJP leaders are making people’s lives miserable. Residents are being deprived of water, their tankers are being cut off or diverted elsewhere. The tanker mafia is thriving in Deoli, while the government remains completely blind, mute, and deaf.” Basic facilities thatPrem Chauhan further said, “The basic facilities that the government had earlier provided in Devli constituency must continue. Tankers should not be removed, and the halted fund for road construction must be immediately released so that we can carry out development work for our people. The tankers that have been withdrawn must be reinstated. We are standing here only to demand water, and we must be allowed to meet Water Minister Parvesh Verma.”He added, “The police are not allowing us to meet Parvesh Verma. The entire police machinery seems complicit in preventing the MLA from doing his work. The public is only asking for water — this is not a crime. We wish to meet the Water Minister peacefully. If the police permit, we will wait patiently and meet him in a peaceful manner. But if they continue to stop us, we will still try to meet the Minister and place before him the people’s grievances.”
Sambit Patra Slams Congress, ‘Bangladesh National Anthem Sung at Assam Congress Meeting to Appease Infiltrators’

Bhubaneswar, Odisha: BJP MP Sambit Patra says, “…Assam Congress leader Bidhu Bhusan Das in the working committee meeting began the meeting with the Bangladesh national anthem: ‘Amar Sonar Bangla Ami Tomay Bhalobasi.’This is the Bangladesh national anthem. We have no issue with Bangladesh. Naturally, the national anthems of all nations are respectable and should be respected. Rabindranath Tagore, a great personality of India and a Nobel Laureate, wrote the national anthems of both countries. We can all see today how the Congress Party continuously pursues its policy of appeasement and the tactics it uses to give legitimacy to infiltrators.National anthem was sung at a Congress Party meetingThis Bangladesh national anthem was sung at a Congress Party meeting. Its sole purpose is to appease the infiltrators who have come to Assam or other parts of the country, and through this appeasement, it tries to build a vote bank for itself…I want to know what the Congress Party’s high command, whether it’s Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, or Rahul Gandhi, thinks about this. Rahul Gandhi should definitely speak on this… Dr. Patra demanded that the Congress leadership clarify its position on the incident. “I want to know what the Congress Party’s high command — Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, or Rahul Gandhi — thinks about this. Rahul Gandhi must break his silence and explain whether the Congress supports such actions,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi Calls for Change in Bihar, Promises Inclusive Mahagathbandhan Government Focused on Jobs, Education and Social Justice

Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, today gave a clarion call for change in Bihar to usher in a new era of inclusive government belonging to everyone that will bring all-round progress and development in the state. Addressing a massive public rally along with the Mahagathbandhan Chief Ministerial and Deputy Chief Ministerial candidates, Tejashwi Yadav and Mukesh Sahani respectively, here today, Gandhi asked, if the people from Bihar can build cities like Dubai, Bangalore and Delhi, why can’t they build Bihar if given the right opportunities. Presenting the Mahagathbandhan’s vision for Bihar, he said the Grand Alliance aims to transform the state into one where people from other parts of the country would want to come for work. He added that the Mahagathbandhan seeks to bring Bihar to the forefront once again. Calling the people of Bihar capable, intelligent, and hard-working, he said the state has to move forward. Mahagathbandhan government will be an inclusive oneAsserting that the Mahagathbandhan government will be an inclusive one, he said, it will represent every caste, community, and religion — including the extremely backward classes, backward classes, Dalits, minorities and the general category.Recalling and reminding the people about the pride and glory of Bihar, he pointed out, Nalanda once used to be the cradle of knowledge for the world. We aim to make it global epicenter of knowledge once again where people from countries like China, Japan and Korea would come to seek knowledge. He pointed out, those countries had received their religion and religious teachings from Bihar. In the same context, he added, Bihar can become a centre for global tourism. But, he added, nothing had been done during the last twenty years of Nitish regime. He described Nitish as just a mask, saying that the real control was with the BJP. “The remote control is in the hands of the BJP,” he remarked. Gandhi recalled that during the UPA government at the Centre headed by Dr Manmohan Singh, a plan had been envisioned to revive the glory of Nalanda. He stated that people of Bihar are intelligent, wise, smart and hardworking — something he had personally witnessed during his twenty-day ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in the state. He said, given the right opportunities, people of Bihar will outshine everyone else. Agenda of the MahagathbandhanSpelling out the development agenda of the Mahagathbandhan government, Rahul gandhi made a strong case for starting manufacturing in the state. He said, instead of importing ‘Made in China’ goods like mobile phones and garments, these should be ‘Made in Bihar’. For this, he said, factories should be set up which will provide jobs to Bihar’s youth. Reiterating and reaffirming his party’s stand on the caste census, which he said was essential for ensuring social justice, Gandhi said, Modi was not interested at all in providing social justice — he was only interested in their votes. Taking a dig at the Prime Minister for wanting to be seen bathing for Chhath Puja, he revealed that a separate clean water pond had been set up for him. “He is not concerned about Chhath Puja, but only about your votes,” Gandhi said, taunting him further, “you can make him even dance on the stage for your vote.” Providing good healthcareThe senior Congress leader said that providing good healthcare, better education and jobs will be the top priorities of the Mahagathbandhan. He also cautioned people against the ‘vote chori’ (vote theft) by the BJP, saying it had stolen the Maharashtra and Haryana elections and would attempt to do the same in Bihar. He appealed to every voter in Bihar to cast their vote to prevent such electoral theft. Those present in the public meeting included K. C. Venugopal, Tejashwi Yadav, Mukesh Sahani, I. P. Gupta, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Rajesh Ram and others.
Shahzad Poonawalla Slams Congress, Says INDI Alliance Hides Vote-Bank Politics Behind Constitutional Rhetoric, Supports Bangladeshi Infiltrators

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla addressed a press conference at the BJP’s central office in New Delhi on Wednesday. During the press conference, Shri Poonaawala said that the true identity of the INDI Alliance is “Zubaan par Samvidhan, mann mein votebank aur Sharia ki dukaan.” He added that the Congress, which once sympathized with Pakistan, has now become an admirer of Bangladesh. Singing Bangladesh’s national anthem from a Congress stage in Assam is the latest proof of this. He said Congress and its leaders have long supported Bangladeshi infiltrators, endangering the nation’s unity and security. National Spokesperson stated that the opposition to a constitutional process like SIR by Congress and TMC is solely to protect their vote bank. In Bengal, TMC leaders are openly threatening the Election Commission and BJP Karyakartas. Shri Poonaawala demanded that Rahul Gandhi, the Congress, and the TMC must answer for this. Shezad Poonawalla stated that the “INDI Alliance Ki Ek Hi Pehchaan, Juban Pe Samvidhan, Par Man Mein Vote Bank Ki Dukaan Aur Iske Bahut Sare Mil Chuke Praman” (The INDI Alliance has become a symbol of hypocrisy—professing loyalty to the Constitution while pursuing vote-bank politics, with numerous instances already revealing this contradiction.) Those who once told Pakistan, “Pakistan Tu Mera Bhai Jaan, Aaj Congress Party Ban Chuki Hai Bangladesh Ki Kadardan” and evidence of this has also come to light today. Running a vote-bank Dukan in their heartsThose who keep the Constitution on their lips are running a vote-bank Dukan in their hearts to such an extent that now, not only with Bangladeshi illegal infiltrators or Rohingyas, but even officially, the Congress party’s endorsement of the ‘Bharat ke Tukde Tukde’ agenda stands evident before everyone.Poonawalla stated that a recent provocative attempt to depict India’s North-East—an integral part of the nation—as belonging to another country has exposed the persistent mindset driven by the intention of dividing India. The Congress party has consistently supported Bangladeshi infiltrators over the years, with the UPA era witnessing systematic settlement of crores of illegal immigrants. From Sam Pitroda to Syeda Hameed and Ghulam Mir, statements were made in support of Bangladeshi infiltrators, on which the BJP held a press conference. And now, the Congress party has officially demonstrated its allegiance by having its senior leaders sing the Bangladeshi national anthem at a party platform in Assam. Highlighted that Since morningBJP National Spokesperson highlighted that Since morning, news channels have been reporting this shocking development — that during an official Congress meeting in Sribhumi, Assam, a senior Congress leader sang the Bangladeshi national anthem from the party’s official platform. They were singing the anthem of the same country that has recently made a provocative gesture aimed at separating India’s North-East, especially Assam, from the rest of the nation — an attempt to divide and fragment India into pieces. This is not the first time that the Congress has openly supported forces working against India. We have earlier seen how the Congress has maintained ties with Pakistan and its agenda — from taking no action against Pakistan after 26/11, giving it a clean chit for the 26/11 attack, showing a soft corner toward Pakistani-sponsored terrorism, and taking a lenient stand on Pakistan. Whether it was opposing the abrogation of Article 370, questioning surgical strikes, or repeatedly echoing Pakistani narratives, the pattern remains consistent.Bangladeshi national anthem has been sung on behalf of the Congress party. Shezad Poonawalla stated that the Congress party’s open support for Bangladeshi infiltrators, especially after Bangladesh’s provocative remarks about breaking Bharat into pieces, is not a mere coincidence — it is a deliberate strategy that has now turned into an industry, the ‘Vote-Bank industry.’ Congress leader Sam Pitroda, who refers to North-Eastern Indians as “Chinese,” in September said, “I feel at home in Pakistan and Bangladesh.” Even the Bangladeshi national anthem has been sung on behalf of the Congress party; they had sung Pakistan’s as well. Earlier, Sam Pitroda had also made statements in favor of Pakistan and Bangladesh; he had openly said, ‘So what if Bangladeshi infiltrators have come into this country. We should not object; we should make some adjustments.’ Earlier, Ghulam Mir had openly said during the Jharkhand elections, ‘Our agenda is to give gas cylinders to infiltrators.’ Poonawalla highlighted that Syeda Hameed, who is very close to the Congress party’s first family and was once in the Planning Commission, had stated that Assam is a dangerous place and that if an infiltrator from Bangladesh arrives, India should accept them because it is also their land and their world. By standing with Bangladeshi infiltrators in this way, the Congress party was aligning itself with an anti-national, Tukde-Tukde agenda. Evidence of this could be seen at the Assam Congress party office, where the Bangladesh national anthem is played openly from Sribhumi, Assam. And look at the timing, this statement came just days after Priyank Kharge insulted the youth of Assam by asking, “What talent do the youth of Assam have?” This is the same Congress party that once insulted Bhupen Hazarika Ji. This is the same Congress party whose leader Pt. Nehru said “Bye Bye Assam” during the 1962 war, dropped bombs in the Northeast, and during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, removed Assam from Rahul Gandhi’s map of India. The Congress party has repeatedly disrespected the people, youth, and identity of Assam. On one hand, it openly supports Bangladeshi infiltrators, most of whom entered during the Congress era. Today, infiltration has largely ceased except in parts of Bengal, as most of the India–Bangladesh border is now fenced. It was the Congress government that provided these infiltrators with valid IDs, proof of residence, and other resources. And now, when the NDA government follows the 3D policy – Detect, Delete, and Deport illegal infiltrators – the Congress responds with its own 3D policy – Divide, Distort, and Defend illegals. Via this sequence, the Congress party has today officially declared its stance, which is anti-India.

BJP’s Tarun Chugh Slams AAP MPs for Poor MPLAD Fund Use, Calls It “Criminal Negligence Towards Punjab’s Development”

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today strongly condemned the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its Rajya Sabha MPs for their gross negligence in ignoring the development issues of Punjab, which, he said, was glaringly reflected in appalling underutilisation of MPLAD funds.Chugh said all seven Rajya Sabha members of AAP have failed miserably in discharging their responsibility as Member of Parliament as just Rs 39 crores was used by them against the grant of rs 119 crores. Pointed out that AAP’sReferring to official data Chugh pointed out that AAP’s seven Rajya Sabha MPs have spent only 29% of their total allocated MPLAD funds, leaving crores of rupees unutilized while Punjab continues to struggle with poor infrastructure and lack of basic amenities. Chugh said Raghav Chadha, the blue-eyed MP of Kejriwal, has proved to be the worst performer as he could spend only Rs 70 lakhs out of the total Rs 18.82 crores allocated to him. AAP MP has spent over 50% of his MPLAD funds“It is shameful that with more than half their tenure over, only one AAP MP has spent over 50% of his MPLAD funds. This exposes the AAP leadership’s hollow claims of good governance and their apathy towards Punjab’s development,” said Chugh. He further attacked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for his “complete failure to ensure accountability and performance” among his party’s MPs. “While Bhagwant Mann is busy in publicity stunts and theatrics, the people of Punjab are paying the price of his government’s inefficiency,” he added. Chugh demanded that the AAP government and its MPs immediately release a white paper on MPLAD fund utilization and explain why funds meant for development projects are lying unused. Punjab needs action, not excuses. The AAP’s neglect has once again proven that their slogans of change are nothing but political drama,” Chugh concluded.
Congress Alleges Massive Rigging by BJP in Dadra-Nagar Haveli and Daman-Diu Local Body Polls, Calls It a ‘Murder of Democracy’

The Congress today accused the BJP of large-scale rigging in the local body elections in Dadra-Nagar Haveli and Daman-Diu, in connivance with the local administration. Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here today, Manikrao Thakare, in-charge of Goa, Dadra-Nagar Haveli and Daman-Diu, co-in-charge Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar and Territorial Congress Committee president Prabhu Tokiya, described it as “murder of democracy” and said that the BJP, in collusion with the administration, hatched a plan to ensure that no one could contest against it, thus hijacking the entire election. Manikrao Thakare alleged that the election rigging in Dadra-Nagar Haveli and Daman-Diu began right from the nomination process. He stated that despite the announcement of elections on October 10, the nomination forms and the list of required documents were not made available on the Election Commission’s website until October 13. Necessary documentsOn October 14 and 15, he said, when non-BJP candidates went to collect the necessary documents, the concerned government employees were absent under the pretext of election training. Later, these candidates were asked to submit affidavits. This shows that the entire process was systematically rigged to prevent candidates from filing nominations. According to Thakare, an hour after the scrutiny of nomination papers began, candidates for the Zilla Parishad elections were suddenly asked to go to the Collector’s office, located three kilometers away.Disclosed that about 80 percent of CongressCandidates for five municipal council wards were also called there. He disclosed that about 80 percent of Congress nominations were rejected. Of the 21 nominations filed for the Zilla Parishad elections, only four were considered valid, while 11 of the 12 nominations filed for the municipal council elections were also rejected, he added. The senior Congress leader stated that no BJP candidate’s nomination papers were rejected. He said that when the Territorial Congress president and thousands of people went to Collector Priyank Kishore’s office to inquire about the reasons for the rejection of nomination papers, they were not given any answers; instead, two people were jailed for just asking about the reasons for rejection. He also accused Dadra-Nagar Haveli and Daman-Diu Administrator Praful Patel of governing in an authoritarian manner.

AAP to Hold Massive Kisan Mahapanchayat in Gujarat on Sardar Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary to Support Agitating Farmers says Gopal Rai

In a major solidarity with Gujarat’s agitating farmers, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal will hold a massive Mahapanchayat on October 31 — the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — to protest the BJP government’s crackdown on farmers. The Mahapanchayat, to be held in the Limdi Assembly constituency of Surendranagar district, will also see the participation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. During their visit, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will meet families of farmers imprisoned for protesting against the Karda system and chart the future course of the farmers’ movement, senior AAP leader and Gujarat Prabhari Gopal Rai announced at a press conference in Delhi on Sunday. BJP government in Gujarat has unleashedIn a press conference, senior AAP leader and Gujarat Prabhari Gopal Rai said that instead of accepting the farmers’ just demands against the exploitative Karda Pratha (Karda system), the BJP government in Gujarat has unleashed brutal repression against them — lathi-charging peaceful protestors, filing false cases, and throwing them in jail. “The BJP thinks it can deceive the people of Gujarat by reshuffling its cabinet, but that will not work,” he said, adding that farmers have resolved to continue their agitation until the Karda Pratha is abolished and a legal guarantee for MSP-based procurement is implemented. The AAP Gujarat Prabhari explained that under the Karda Pratha, exploitation of farmers continues unabated in Gujarat’s agricultural markets. Since October 10, farmers across the state have been agitating against this oppressive system. However, instead of addressing their demands, the BJP government has resorted to lathis, tear gas, fabricated FIRs, and imprisonment to suppress their voices. “By changing and expanding its cabinet, the BJP is attempting to mislead the people, but that will not succeed,” he said. Placed under house arrestAnnouncing the next phase of the movement, Gopal Rai stated, “On October 31, the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, AAP Gujarat will organise a Kisan Mahapanchayat in Sudamda village, Limdi constituency, Surendranagar district. Representatives from 400 agricultural Mandia across Gujarat will participate. AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will address the gathering and decide the future strategy of the movement.”Recounting the sequence of events, Gopal Rai said that on October 10, farmers at the Botad district market demanded the abolition of Karda Pratha, but the market administration refused to listen. Farmers, along with AAP Kisan leader Rajubhai Karpada, were peacefully sitting on a dharna when they were arrested at 3 a.m. The market was forcibly closed. On October 12, when farmers announced a Kisan Mahapanchayat in Botad, the area was turned into a cantonment zone. AAP Gujarat President Isudan Gadhvi, Youth Wing President Brijraj Solanki, Women’s Wing President Reshma Patel, and General Secretary Sagar Rabari, among others, were arrested or placed under house arrest. Governor through District Magistrates across all districts“When the Mahapanchayat could not be held at the market, farmers assembled around 6 p.m. in Hadad village, 3–4 km away from Botad. But on the orders of Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi, the village was surrounded. Stones were pelted from behind, lathis were used, tear gas shells were fired, doors were broken, women and elders were humiliated, and 69 people were thrown in jail. These individuals are still imprisoned and spent their Diwali behind bars,” Gopal Rai said.He added that on October 13, a Black Day was observed across Gujarat to protest the government’s atrocities. On October 15, AAP sent a team of lawyers led by MLAs Hemant Khava, Sagar Rabari, and Raju Solanki to meet the families of the arrested farmers and take responsibility for their legal defence. On October 16, Rajubhai Karpada and Praveen Ram announced an indefinite hunger strike at the AAP office in Ahmedabad, but they were arrested and jailed before reaching there. That same day, Sumit Pawar, Chairman of the Taluka Panchayat Business Committee, resigned in protest against the repression. On October 17, protest letters were sent to the Governor through District Magistrates across all districts. On October 20, families across Gujarat lit lamps in solidarity with the 69 jailed farmers.Gopal Rai said that during the October 31 Kisan Mahapanchayat, Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann will meet the families of the imprisoned farmers and formulate the next phase of the movement. “Today, Gujarat stands divided into two camps: one represented by the BJP, which is crushing farmers’ voices, and the other by AAP, which is fighting for their rights,” he said.He further pointed out that in July, both cattle rearers at Sabarkantha’s Sabar Dairy and farmers at Hadad faced brutal lathi charges, tear gas, and fabricated cases. “The very Home Minister, Harsh Sanghvi, who oversaw this repression, has now been rewarded by the BJP with the post of Deputy Chief Minister,” Rai remarked.
