Delhi BJP President Mr. Virendra Sachdeva, accompanied by Member of Parliament Mrs. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, inaugurated the reconstruction of a state-of-the-art sports stadium in Jharoda Kalan village. This initiative is part of the Gramodaya Yojana and is being implemented by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi under the guidance of Councillor Mr. Amit Kharkhari.
Multi-Sport Facilities to Boost Local Talent
The upgraded sports complex will feature two badminton courts, a basketball court, a walking track, and a full-sized football ground. Speaking at the event, Mr. Sachdeva emphasized the positive impact of this facility, stating that it would provide a platform for budding athletes in the Najafgarh region to train and excel.
Incentives for Youth and Focus on Environmental Responsibility
To encourage young athletes, Mr. Sachdeva awarded financial incentives to local boys’ and girls’ football teams and motivated them to bring pride to their village through sportsmanship. He also urged the youth to take a pledge to plant trees and contribute to environmental protection, especially in combating pollution.
A Commitment to Rural Development
Mr. Sachdeva expressed appreciation to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor for the allocation of ₹960 crore under the Gramodaya Yojana, dedicated to uplifting the rural and village infrastructure in Delhi. He noted that this funding was in direct response to demands raised by villagers and is now being translated into tangible development projects.
Wider Development Across Rural Delhi
Highlighting broader developmental efforts, Sachdeva shared that infrastructure works are underway in Najafgarh and also expanding to other constituencies such as Narela, Palla, Bijwasan, Mehrauli, and Chhatarpur. As part of the ₹14 crore development plan, 102 inner lanes in the ward are also being repaired.
Vision for a Developed India Starting from Delhi’s Villages
Reiterating his long-term vision, Sachdeva stated that rural transformation is key to Delhi’s progress and a crucial step towards making the national capital a symbol of a developed India. He also emphasized public cooperation in maintaining cleanliness and urged citizens to avoid plastic and report sanitation issues to elected representatives.

MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat commended the people of Delhi for their unwavering support, crediting public trust for enabling continuous progress in rural areas. She assured that under the leadership of Mr. Sachdeva and Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta, development would continue without pause.

MLA Neelam highlighted the decline Delhi faced over the past decade and praised the public for opting for change. She acknowledged Mr. Sachdeva’s leadership in rebuilding confidence among citizens and ushering in the BJP’s governance in the MCD.

Councillor Amit Kharkhari attributed the progress to Delhi’s first-ever triple-engine government under BJP’s rule, saying that for over a decade development was stagnant. With Rekha Gupta’s government now at the helm and BJP controlling the MCD, leaders at all levels are committed to ensuring impactful development reaches the grassroots.
