AAP Accuses BJP of Copying Kejriwal’s Artificial Rain Plan, Questions Timing and Intent

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over its recent move to implement an artificial rain project in Delhi. AAP’s Delhi state president, Saurabh Bharadwaj, accused the BJP of copying Arvind Kejriwal’s vision—a proposal that the BJP had previously mocked. Bharadwaj pointed out that when the AAP government initially planned to use artificial rain to tackle winter pollution in Delhi, the central government denied permission, and BJP leaders dismissed the idea as an unrealistic fantasy. However, now that BJP holds power both at the Centre and in Delhi’s municipal body, approvals for the same plan were granted without delay. Bharadwaj also questioned the timing of the initiative. On June 19, when the Indian Meteorological Department had already predicted rainfall and the sky was overcast, Delhi Mayor Rekha Gupta announced artificial rain. He argued that when natural rain was already expected, the move was unnecessary and designed solely for publicity. Now that there are no clouds or rain forecasts, the BJP has quietly shelved the project, exposing it as a political stunt. He further argued that the scientifically suitable time for artificial rain in Delhi is from October to January, when pollution levels peak and weather conditions are favorable. According to experts, June and July do not offer the necessary atmospheric conditions for such efforts. Bharadwaj accused the BJP of rushing the announcement for political gain, rather than public welfare. He also recalled that when AAP had proposed the same idea seven years ago, the BJP criticized it as corruption and a waste of taxpayer money. Now, with the BJP pursuing the same policy, Bharadwaj called it hypocrisy and questioned the party’s motives. He concluded with two pointed questions to the BJP: Why attempt artificial rain during unsuitable weather conditions, and why did they oppose the AAP’s original plan if they now believe in its merit? Bharadwaj asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party is committed to transparency and demanded honest answers from the BJP, stressing that the people of Delhi deserve sincerity, not political showmanship.
Delhi BJP Yuva Morcha Hosts Mock Parliament to Mark 50 Years of Emergency, Calls for Youth Vigilance Against Authoritarianism

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Emergency imposed in 1975, the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organized a Mock Parliament on 27 June at the NDMC Convention Centre. The event, themed around the erosion of democratic rights during the Emergency, witnessed participation from students of various Delhi colleges. Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva were present as chief guests, along with Delhi BJYM President Sagar Tyagi. The programme began with a ceremonial lamp lighting and a special exhibition showcasing the events and impacts of the Emergency. In his welcome speech, Sagar Tyagi described the Emergency as a dark chapter in India’s democratic journey and emphasized the importance of educating today’s youth about the dangers of authoritarianism. Virendra Sachdeva said the Emergency was a time when the Constitution was strangled to help one family retain power. He noted that people were jailed without cause and some even lost their lives. He urged youth to come out of mobile addiction and serve the nation with sincerity. S. Jaishankar, in his address, stressed that the Emergency was not just a political crisis but a direct attack on India’s way of life and civil liberties. He pointed out that key constitutional amendments during that period the 38th, 39th, and 42nd were aimed at silencing the judiciary and removing fundamental rights. He criticized Congress for never apologizing for the Emergency, adding that even if someone’s life was in danger, courts had no power to intervene at that time. He remarked that slogans like “Indira is India, and India is Indira” showed how the nation was equated with a single individual. He recounted the widespread fear created through police raids and arrests, saying people had no idea when they would be freed. He also mentioned that due to a bilateral agreement signed with Sri Lanka during the Emergency, India lost its traditional fishing rights an issue that continues to affect Indian fishermen. Listing six key lessons from the Emergency, S. Jaishankar said democracy is in India’s DNA and the 1977 elections were a result of people rejecting dictatorship. He warned that placing family above the nation weakens democracy and that Indians must be cautious of those who criticize the country abroad. Empowering citizens, he said, is essential to prevent future authoritarianism. He also underlined the importance of national pride, citing the example of Operation Sindoor, after which Indian leaders across party lines projected a strong image abroad. Lastly, he said that the Emergency should not be seen as just a historical event because even today, many of its architects and supporters have shown no regret. The Mock Parliament concluded with a clear message to the youth: protecting democracy requires not just awareness but active participation and moral courage.
ASAP Sets Up Help Desk for DU Admissions, Slams ABVP-NSUI for ‘Reel Politics’, Demands Infrastructure Reforms

The Aam Aadmi Party’s student wing, Association of Students for Alternative Politics (ASAP), has launched a major initiative to assist students during Delhi University’s admission season. To support students particularly those coming from outside Delhi or facing financial difficulties ASAP has set up a dedicated Admission Help Desk outside the Arts Faculty. Alongside this, they have released zone-wise helpline numbers to address admission-related queries, ensuring that students don’t have to struggle due to lack of guidance. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, ASAP leaders Eeshna Gupta and Deepak Bansal highlighted the steps being taken to offer round-the-clock support to students. Eeshna Gupta stated that under the guidance of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, ASAP has been actively involved in student welfare through cultural, social, and issue-based campaigns. She mentioned a recent instance at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, where ASAP provided water, food, and even financial aid to protesting students. Carrying forward this spirit of service, the newly launched help desk and helpline aim to assist students in real time with undergraduate and postgraduate admission concerns. Gupta emphasized that students from economically weaker backgrounds often lose out on opportunities due to lack of awareness, and ASAP is committed to bridging that gap. Deepak Bansal further reinforced ASAP’s mission to raise real issues affecting students, contrasting it with what he called the “reel politics” of traditional student organisations. He criticized both ABVP and NSUI, comparing them to BJP and Congress, and accused them of reducing student politics to performative social media stunts. Referring to a recent DUSU office incident, Bansal claimed it was a scripted act by ABVP and NSUI leaders and symbolic of their failure to deliver on core student issues. He expressed disappointment over the lack of action following the fire at Zakir Hussain College, which lacked basic safety infrastructure. He also highlighted the poor condition of colleges like Aditi Mahavidyalaya and Bhagini Nivedita College, citing broken fans, unhygienic hostel food, and rising hostel fees despite deteriorating infrastructure. ASAP has presented a list of demands to the DU administration, including installation of cold drinking water coolers, improvement in infrastructure and fire safety, and rollback of unjustified hostel fee hikes. The organisation has warned that if these demands are not met promptly, they will submit a memorandum to the Vice Chancellor and initiate a protest. Bansal concluded by reiterating that ASAP is focused on solving real problems and promoting accessible, quality education, as demonstrated by the Delhi model under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership. #DUAdmissions2025 #ASAPStudentSupport #AdmissionHelpDesk #StudentWelfare #StopReelPolitics #CampusReality #DUInfrastructureCrisis #AffordableEducation #HostelFeeHike #YouthForChange
Monsoon Misery Exposes BJP’s Tall Claims, Delhi Submerged After First Rain, AAP Targets ‘Four-Engine’ Government

A brief downpour on Tuesday wreaked havoc across the national capital, revealing once again the fragile state of Delhi’s civic infrastructure. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led administration, criticizing what it described as the repeated failure of the so-called ‘four-engine government’ to protect Delhi from seasonal flooding. From Dhaula Kuan to Delhi Airport, Inderlok, East Punjabi Bagh, Mundka, and the Zakheera railway bridge, widespread waterlogging led to massive traffic jams and commuter chaos. Visuals of vehicles submerged in knee-deep water flooded social media, underscoring the government’s unpreparedness. Is this BJP’s idea of a ‘Viksit Delhi’?AAP’s Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj ridiculed the ruling party, sharing images of severe waterlogging outside the RK Puram office of BJP MLA Anil Sharma, posted by former AAP MLA Parmila Dheeraj Tokas. “This is the reality of ‘Developed Delhi’ under the BJP’s ‘Developed India’ dream,” he remarked. Delhiites are paying the price of BJP’s failureFormer Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia lashed out at the administration, pointing to not just waterlogging but also a host of other civic failures. “From unbearable power cuts to skyrocketing school fees and eviction of the poor, now even a brief spell of rain has drowned the city,” he said. “Is this the governance model Delhi deserves under BJP’s four-engine setup?” Where is CM Rekha Gupta now?Atishi, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, questioned the absence of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who had earlier claimed that Delhi’s roads would remain dry this monsoon. Sharing images of submerged areas including the airport, Inderlok, East Punjabi Bagh, Mundka, and Zakheera Bridge, Atishi wrote: “This is BJP’s miracle Delhi sinks after just a light drizzle.” BJP MLA’s own area under waterParmila Dheeraj Tokas posted a timestamped image (3:20 PM, June 17, 2025) showing water stagnation outside the RK Puram office of BJP MLA Anil Sharma. She wrote, “If this is the condition outside the MLA’s own office, imagine the state of the rest of the city. This is the truth behind BJP’s claims of a developed capital.” BJP’s fake promises are floating in flooded streetsAnkush Narang, Leader of Opposition in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), said the very first monsoon shower had washed away all BJP’s boasts. “CM Rekha Gupta and Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh had promised a flood-free monsoon, but today’s rain has exposed the hollowness of those claims. Wherever you look in Delhi, there’s only water and broken promises.” AAP leaders emphasized that the recurring monsoon crisis in Delhi reflects systemic negligence, hollow assurances, and the absence of real governance. The party reiterated its demand for immediate action to improve drainage and civic preparedness, stressing that Delhiites deserve more than slogans they deserve results.

Ankush Narang, Leader of Opposition in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), launched a scathing attack on the BJP during a press conference on Friday. He alleged that despite Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s claims that ₹820 crore had been released to MCD, not a single rupee has reached the civic body’s account so far. Salaries Were Timely Under AAP, Now Delayed Again Under BJPNarang stated that when AAP was in power in the MCD, all employees received their salaries promptly on the 1st of every month. However, within just two months of BJP’s return, salaries are now delayed by 10 to 20 days. He reminded the public that under BJP’s 15-year rule, sanitation workers were left unpaid for as long as six months. “Four-Engine” Government, Yet Complete Administrative FailureHighlighting that Delhi is now governed by a “four-engine BJP government” — at the Centre, in Delhi Government, MCD, and through the Lieutenant Governor Narang questioned why salary payments are still delayed. “If BJP holds all four levers of power, why is there still financial mismanagement?” he asked. 820 Crore Announcement an Eyewash?Narang pointed out that BJP had claimed ₹3,282 crore was sanctioned to MCD, with ₹820 crore as the first installment. “Media reports and BJP leaders claimed the funds had been released, but MCD’s account shows zero credit.
