Just 100 days into the Bharatiya Janata Party’s so-called “four-engine” governance in Delhi, residents are experiencing a rapid decline in access to essential services. From reliable electricity to regular water supply, the capital once considered a model city under the Arvind Kejriwal government is now grappling with outages, inflated bills, and severe water shortages.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal took to social media platform X, sharing a video compilation of citizens expressing their distress. “What destruction these four engines have brought upon Delhi in just 100 days!” he wrote, highlighting the public’s growing frustration.
Delhi’s ‘New Normal’: Power Cuts, Skyrocketing Bills, Water Crisis
AAP Delhi President Saurabh Bharadwaj also criticised BJP’s misgovernance, posting a full-page inverter advertisement from a leading daily. “Welcome to BJP’s miracle! In a city where inverter shops shut down under AAP, they’re now back with full-page ads,” he remarked sarcastically.
The video features emotional accounts from Delhi residents who lament the return of electricity bills, higher tariffs, and unpredictable supply. One woman said, “We never paid for electricity during the AAP rule. Now bills are back and keep increasing.”
“Under BJP, There’s No Water to Drink or Cook”: Voices from the Ground
Residents described how water scarcity has turned severe. “We get water for only 30 minutes, and even that is not enough for every household,” said a local. “We had regular supply during Kejriwal’s time. Now, we stay up at night hoping to fill a few buckets.”
Another woman echoed the sentiment: “Gas prices are up, water has to be bought, and we’re back to paying electricity bills. BJP promised free 300 units of electricity, but we haven’t seen even one.”
The testimonies also slammed the BJP for vanishing after elections. “They come for votes with big promises and disappear. When Kejriwal was CM, roads and drains were built, and there was water. Now we can’t even cook without struggling for gas and water.”
AAP Says Delhi Deserves Better Governance
AAP has termed the BJP’s 100-day rule in Delhi a “disaster”, accusing it of turning basic amenities into luxuries for ordinary citizens. The party reiterated that only a government focused on public welfare not advertisements can ensure a dignified life for the people of Delhi.
Through this powerful citizen-led video, the Aam Aadmi Party has urged immediate course correction and called for a return to governance that truly serves the people.
