Marking the completion of 100 days under the BJP-led Delhi government, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a scathing critique, releasing what it called the “real report card” of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s tenure. Addressing a press conference, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that the BJP had reneged on every major promise made to the people of Delhi and accused it of systematically dismantling welfare schemes introduced by the previous AAP government.
“BJP Issuing Its Own Report Card is Like Students Faking Their Exam Results”
Mocking the BJP’s self-appraisal exercise, Bharadwaj likened it to “mischievous schoolchildren forging their own report cards after failing.” He remarked, “How can a government evaluate itself and declare success without independent scrutiny? That’s why we have created and released this actual report card—to stop the BJP from misleading the public.”
2500 Monthly Allowance for Women Where Is It?
Bharadwaj highlighted the unfulfilled promise made by the BJP to offer ₹2500 per month to every woman in Delhi. “This commitment was made on 8th March. It’s now 30th May and not a single woman has received the promised amount. Instead, a committee—comprising BJP’s own ministers was formed to stall action,” he said.
What Happened to Bus Marshal Jobs?
He raised concerns about the fate of over 10,000 youth who served as bus marshals and lost their livelihoods under the BJP-appointed LG’s decisions. “The BJP had assured reinstatement and permanent employment within 60 days. It’s now 100 days, and there is no progress,” said Bharadwaj.
Why No Rollback on School Fee Hikes?
Bharadwaj questioned the government’s silence on private school fee hikes. “Despite claiming to have audited schools, BJP has not acted to reverse these inhumane increases in fees,” he stated.
Will There Be an FIR Against DPS Dwarka?
Referring to reported instances of child harassment at DPS Dwarka, Bharadwaj demanded accountability. “The evidence is public. When will the government register an FIR?” he asked.
When Will the Government Move to Take Over DPS Dwarka?
The AAP leader further called for the government to initiate proceedings to take over the school, citing repeated requests from concerned parents. “Till date, no action has been taken,” he said.
Dismantling of Public Welfare Programs
Farishta Scheme Discontinued—A Tragic Outcome
Bharadwaj condemned the BJP’s decision to scrap the Farishta Scheme, which provided free emergency treatment at private hospitals. Citing a tragic incident in Kalkaji where a 9-year-old died after being denied treatment at a private hospital, he said, “Had the scheme still existed, the child might have been saved.”
Closure of Mohalla Clinics and Job Losses
He alleged that Mohalla Clinics are being gradually shut down and their staff dismissed. “Instead of expanding healthcare, BJP is actively rolling it back,” he added.
Free Gas Cylinder Promise Broken, Prices Raised Instead
“The BJP promised free LPG cylinders on Holi and Diwali. Holi has passed, but not one free cylinder was distributed. Instead, the price has been hiked by ₹50,” Bharadwaj pointed out.
Free Diagnostics in Private Labs Also Withdrawn
AAP claimed that another vital health scheme allowing free MRIs, CT scans, and surgeries in private labs (when government facilities were unavailable) has also been cancelled.
Demolition of Jhuggis Contrary to Pre-Poll Assurances
Bharadwaj said BJP leaders had promised in their manifesto: “Jahaan jhuggi, wahaan makaan.” Yet now, bulldozers are razing jhuggis without providing alternative housing. “In areas where BJP leaders once stayed overnight to win votes, demolition notices are now being issued,” he said.
AAP to Circulate ‘Report Card’ Widely
Concluding the press briefing, Saurabh Bharadwaj announced that AAP would send physical copies of the 100-day report card to all MLAs, MPs, and journalists, urging the public to hold the BJP accountable for its governance in Delhi.
