Kejriwal violated financial norms under the guise of free electricity in Delhi, creating a situation where now power DISCOMs have the freedom to arbitrarily increase electricity rates. BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated that Arvind Kejriwal is nothing more than a juggler of artificial claims. Today, Punjab is facing severe floods, people are in deep distress, and Arvind Kejriwal is busy boasting that his government supplies electricity to farmers at night. Sachdeva said that Kejriwal claims Delhi residents received 24-hour electricity because of him, but for his information, Delhi was already getting uninterrupted power supply even before he came to power. It’s been 8 months since his government lost power, and Delhi continues to get 24-hour electricity.
Kejriwal misused the promise of free electricity
The Delhi BJP President further said that Kejriwal misused the promise of free electricity to bypass financial regulations, allowed power DISCOMs (distribution companies) to manipulate their accounts, and has now brought the situation to a point where these DISCOMs are free to hike electricity tariffs at will. The under-the-table collusion between Kejriwal and power DISCOMs has sown a poisonous seed, the effects of which will directly impact the middle class and poor families.He said that subsidies for free electricity given to poor families will now increase, putting a heavy burden on the government treasury, which will in turn halt development projects. He added that Kejriwal’s game of taking kickbacks from power DISCOMs is now going to hurt the people of Delhi.
