“The more compassion and service-mindedness reflected in the decisions made from this new office, the more they will benefit the people of Delhi” Prime Minister Modi On this auspicious occasion of Navratri, Delhi BJP has got its new office. This moment is filled with new dreams and fresh resolutions, and for that, I heartily congratulate all BJP workers of Delhi.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has now completed 45 years since its founding. Under the blessings of great leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L.K. Advani, Nanaji Deshmukh, and Murli Manohar Joshi, the party has grown. But the seed from which this mighty tree has emerged was planted in October 1951, with the founding of the Jan Sangh under Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee.

Delhi’s Jan Sangh got its first president in Vaidya Gurudutt ji, followed by leaders like Atal ji, Advani ji, Dr. Bhai Mahavir, and Hardayal Devgun. When the BJP was formed in 1980, Shri V.K. Malhotra was given the responsibility of being the first Delhi BJP President. The current strength of Delhi BJP is the result of decades of hard work by lakhs of dedicated workers.

Veteran leaders like Kedarnath Sahni ji, Sahib Singh Verma ji, Madan Lal Khurana ji, and many others showed us the path of service. Leaders like Arun Jaitley ji and Smt. Sushma Swaraj ji dedicated their entire lives to the party.

Delhi’s relationship with the party is not just geographical — it is emotional, grounded in values, service, and shared struggles. From the time of the Jan Sangh to today’s BJP, Delhi has remained central to the party’s activities.

After the Partition, Jan Sangh workers arranged rehabilitation for displaced and suffering people. When the Metropolitan Council was formed, leaders like Advani ji and V.K. Malhotra ji became the voice of Delhi. During the Emergency, Jan Sangh leaders stood with Delhi’s people and fought against state repression.

In 1984, during the tragic anti-Sikh riots, BJP workers in Delhi stood firm to protect the Sikh community.

Delhi and BJP share a bond of trust and emotion. Even during the Jan Sangh era, Delhi was the center of major national movements. Leaders of that time established a culture where workers from all over India would come to Delhi and be hosted warmly in workers’ homes, with all arrangements taken care of.

The hard work and sacrifices of Delhi’s workers have brought BJP to where it stands today. As we enter this new office, let us move forward with continued inspiration from our past.

“For us, any BJP office is no less sacred than a temple.”

A BJP office is not just a building — it’s a strong link between the party and the people’s expectations. BJP does not exist for power, but for service, and our offices are meant to nurture that spirit.

Let Delhi BJP be known not for its facilities, but for its public outreach and service.

We must remember — every worker who enters this office will carry the hopes of someone in need, and it is our collective responsibility to fulfill those hopes.

The more empathy and service-mindedness we have in the decisions made from this office, the more beneficial they will be for the people of Delhi.

After many years, BJP is now in government in Delhi. The people have entrusted us with their hopes and dreams. Therefore, every public representative sitting in this new office carries greater responsibility.

Our government is working hard to improve public facilities:
• Building new homes for slum dwellers
• Improving hundreds of government hospitals and schools
• Adding hundreds of electric buses
• Cleaning the Yamuna River
• Creating world-class living spaces on the Yamuna banks
• Accelerating metro and flyover projects

The Delhi Government is fully dedicated to the reconstruction of the capital. If the government and party organization work together, we can soon fulfill the dream of a Developed India and a Developed Delhi.

Under BJP and NDA governments, the country has seen good governance and progress based on the mantra:

“Development with Heritage”

We have prioritized national security, ended large-scale corruption, and instilled public trust in the fight against corruption.

A major focus of BJP’s governance is on delivery and increasing household savings.

Here’s an example:
• In 2014, under Congress, anyone earning over ₹2 lakh had to pay income tax.
• Today, income up to ₹12 lakh is tax-free.

Similarly:
• Before 2017, a middle-class family spending ₹1 lakh annually on essentials paid ₹25,000 in taxes. After the introduction of GST, those expenses attract only ₹5,000–₹6,000 in taxes.
• This results in ₹2 lakh annual savings per family — and up to ₹2.5 lakh if you include income tax savings.

The benefits of BJP’s schemes must reach every beneficiary, and party workers must stay alert and active. Today, I am also here to ask something from you:
Let us ensure that the next-generation GST reforms benefit even the most common citizens. We must educate both consumers and shopkeepers.

Wherever BJP is in the opposition, our responsibility increases. We must ensure state governments pass on the GST benefits to citizens.
In Himachal Pradesh, when we reduced GST, the Congress government increased cement prices, looting the public. We must fight against this.Let us promote self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat) and Swadeshi (Made in India). Every shop should proudly display a sign:“Say with pride – This is Swadeshi.”This is our duty. It must be propagated with pride in every village and every street.

“Healthy Women, Empowered Families”
More than 3 crore women have undergone free health screenings in thousands of camps. Diseases like TB, breast cancer, cervical cancer must be detected early. Delhi BJP workers should ensure that women here also benefit from these health camps.
Delhi is not just the political capital but also the cultural diversity capital. It is home to a Mini India.

From celebrating Sikh Gurus’ festivals, to the 400th birth anniversary of Ahom warrior Lachit Borphukan, to Chhath Puja, Durga Puja, Pongal, and more — Delhi brings all of India together. Recently, Delhi CM Smt. Rekha Gupta participated in a Bathukamma festival organized by Telugu student associations. So, I urge all BJP workers in Delhi: Celebrate every Indian festival with pride, so that those living here feel that:

“Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India) is not just a slogan — it’s a lived reality. Let Delhi reflect the spirit of India and Indian-ness. Let every major festival from every state be celebrated here. This will bring prosperity to those states and pride to our capital.
Let’s pledge to work day and night to make Delhi the best capital city. Let the country feel proud of its capital.
