Expressing concern over the deterioration of the health infrastructure and lack of facilities in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) hospitals, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has been launching new schemes to mislead the people and to impress BJP’s Central leadership without paying any attention to the basic needs of the people. He said that it was disturbing to note that patients who go to MCD hospitals have to face myriad problems due to lack of facilities, medicines and staff, as Delhi’s health system has been shifted from ICU to ventilator.Devender Yadav said that patients are forced to run from pillar to post, and shell out huge sums to buy medicines from outside as treatments at the Hindu Rao Hospital, Balak Ram Hospital and Swami Dayanand Hospital come at a heavy price as these hospitals are without even basic medicines.

MCD hospitals is so depressing and terrible
Devender Yadav said that the system in the BJP-ruled MCD hospitals is so depressing and terrible that patients dread to approach these hospitals as medicines for BP, antibiotics, heart diseases are scarce to get. He said that after standing in long queues, doctors prescribe medicines which are not available in these hospitals and the poor, helpless patients have to buy these medicines from outside, which many patients are unable to afford. He said that with cases of vector-borne diseases like dengue and malaria on the rise, there is no special arrangement for the treatment of such patients in these hospitals. He said that patients have been facing shortage of medicines for the past several months as very few medicines prescribed by the doctors are available in these hospitals. He said that this situation has been prevailing in the MCD hospitals for the past many months, but the BJP Government has not bothered to address these issues.
