Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav said that the false narrative created by the corrupt Kejriwal Government of the Aam Aadmi Party about the so-called “Delhi Model of Education”, which Delhi Congress has been exposing frequently for the past 11 years, has been brought out in the open by a survey of the Directorate of Education, which has pointed out that most of the Government schools were without basic amenities like power and water, with over 100 Government schools dependent on water tankers for water and many schools without electricity connections. He said that it was also an indictment of the BJP Government headed by Rekha Gupta that it has failed to improve the pitiable condition of Government schools in the past seven months, though the party had come to power with loud promises in its Delhi Assembly manifesto like free education “from KG to PG” for needy students in Government education institutes” of the city if voted to power.

Devender Yadav blames BJP and AAP for neglecting education
Devender Yadav said that when Congress was in power in Delhi for 15 years, Government schools were turned into model educational hubs where children from ordinary families could get quality education at almost at par with some of the public schools to help them dream big and achieve success in life, but now the pitiable condition of most Government schools with crumbling infrastructure, without power and water, without principals and vice-principals and teachers for key subjects, students-desertion from Government schools has become a common feature, to debunk the claims of the previous Kejriwal Government’s “Delhi Model of Education” narrative.

Cites lack of basic amenities
Devender Yadav said that since the Rekha Gupta Government took charge in Delhi, its focus has been on issues like building a new Secretariat building, renovation of the bungalows of the Ministers and CMs, increasing the power tariff to favour the Discoms, other such anti-poor policies by totally neglecting the issues affecting the common people. He said that the BJP Government has not bothered to repair the broken roads, desilting of drains and sewers to prevent water logging, opening of the shut primary health centres/dispensaries where the poor go for treatment, regular water and power supply, end the rein of the tanker mafia who were given a free run by the corrupt Kejriwal Government, as BJP was also only emulating the corruption model of the AAP Government. Devender Yadav said that with the demolition of many of the JJ Clusters, the poor have been driven out of Delhi though they had put up terrible living conditions in the slum clusters hoping to give a better education to their children in Government schools, but with the Rekha Gupta Government giving least attention to the dilapidated condition of Government schools, the anti-poor policies of the BJP Government has become all too apparent.
