The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, under the leadership of National Convenor Shri Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Mann, has launched Punjab’s most ambitious public healthcare scheme to date ‘Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana’. This initiative guarantees free, cashless treatment of up to ₹10 lakh annually for every family in Punjab, applicable at both government and empanelled private hospitals.

Registration Begins October 2 With Just Aadhaar and Voter ID
Announcing the scheme in Chandigarh, Shri Arvind Kejriwal stated that from October 2, residents can register for the Health Card using only their Aadhaar and Voter ID. No questions will be asked about caste, religion, or income, and each family will be issued a unique ID with separate health cards for each member.

This Should Have Happened 50 Years Ago”
Speaking at a public gathering in Mohali, Arvind Kejriwal emphasized the long-standing neglect of essential services in India. “Ours is a country where people are often forced to sell land and jewelry for medical treatment. What we are launching in Punjab today should have been done decades ago,” he said, calling education and healthcare the core pillars of AAP’s governance model.

AAP’s Focus,Real Governance, Not Hollow Slogans

Targeting rival parties, Kejriwal remarked, “While some leaders are busy with slogans of turning India into a ‘Vishwaguru’, they ignore basic needs like healthcare and education. Countries like Japan, Germany, and Singapore advanced by prioritizing these services. India missed tha
opportunity post-independence.”

AAP’s Nation-Building Through Public Welfare
Calling AAP’s work “true nation-building,” Kejriwal said that in just three years of governance, Punjab has leapfrogged in education rankings, even surpassing Kerala in the 2024 National Achievement Survey. “Other parties had the chance but lacked sincerity. We have proven that with honest intent, transformation is possible,” he asserted.

Massive Healthcare Gains Under AAP Rule
Highlighting AAP’s record in health services, Kejriwal shared that Punjab now has 881 Mohalla Clinics, with 200 more nearing completion a target of 1,000 clinics in three years. “All diagnostic tests and medicines at government hospitals are now free,” he added. He also criticised BJP-led efforts to dismantle Mohalla Clinics in Delhi, renaming them and closing them down out of political spite.

Health Card Scheme,A Game-Changer for Every Household
Kejriwal described the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana as a revolutionary step. “Private health insurance for ₹10 lakh is out of reach for the common man. But now, even critical hospital treatments will be fully free. This is a model for the entire nation,” he declared.

The scheme also covers government employees and pensioners. Camps will be set up in every village and urban ward, where residents can enroll easily and receive their health cards.

Free Electricity, Education, and Now Healthcare, Without Raising Taxes
Kejriwal stated that AAP’s model of governance proves that public welfare doesn’t require tax hikes. “In today’s inflationary era, we are providing free electricity, quality education, and now healthcare. We have not raised taxes, because we ended corruption and directed public money towards people’s welfare,” he said.

This Is Real Relief for Punjab’s Families
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann hailed the new scheme as a lifeline for lakhs of struggling families. “People have been forced to sell their homes for treatment. No more. With this scheme, no one in Punjab will have to bear the burden of medical bills,” he said.

Kejriwal’s Leadership Has Changed the Meaning of Governance
Mann credited Arvind Kejriwal for redefining political priorities in India. “While other parties played divisive politics, AAP brought education, health, electricity, and water to the forefront. This is what real leadership looks like,” he said.

We Give Health Cards, They Ask for Birth Certificates
Taking a dig at the Centre, Mann said, “While our government is distributing health cards without any condition, the Prime Minister is asking voters for their birth certificates. That shows the difference in intent.”

Criticism of ‘Operation Sindoor’ and Centre’s Political Stunts
Referring to the recent military tension and BJP’s symbolic campaign, Mann said, “During a crisis with Pakistan, Punjab suffered the most. Yet the Centre indulged in emotional theatrics by distributing ‘sindoor’. People saw through this gimmick.”

Warning to Criminal Nexus and Political Patrons
Mann asserted that the previous governments turned Punjab into a hotbed for drug lords and gangsters. “Now, the same politicians who shielded criminals are facing justice. We have begun a serious crackdown and those who destroyed our youth will face the consequences,” he declared.

A Clean and Secure Future for Punjab
Ending on a hopeful note, Mann said, “Punjab is the land of brave soldiers and saints. We will erase the stains of crime and corruption. AAP is committed to restoring Punjab’s dignity and building a safer, healthier, and more equitable future.”
