Congress General Secretary lays foundation stone for new municipal building and inaugurates sub-office in Mananthavady LAC

Wayanad, Kerala – In a significant boost to civic infrastructure development in Kerala’s Wayanad district, Congress General Secretary and Wayanad Member of Parliament, Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, visited Payyampally in the Mananthavady Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) on Saturday. She took part in two major local governance initiatives aimed at strengthening municipal services in the region.

During her visit, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra inaugurated the newly constructed municipal sub-office at Payyampally, which is expected to improve accessibility and administrative efficiency for residents of the area. The sub-office will cater to local civic needs, enabling faster service delivery and reducing the burden on the central municipal office in Mananthavady.

Following the inauguration, the Congress leader also laid the foundation stone for a new municipal building of the Mananthavady Municipality. This upcoming facility is envisioned as a modern administrative center, equipped to handle a growing population and the increasing demand for public services in the region.

The ceremonies were attended by local Congress leaders, elected representatives, municipal officials, and residents. In her address, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra emphasized the importance of grassroots development and strengthening local self-government institutions. She reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with local authorities to ensure Wayanad’s overall progress.

Her visit marks an important step in the Congress party’s continuing efforts to promote decentralized governance and responsive administration in Kerala. The new civic infrastructure is anticipated to enhance the quality of life for citizens by offering streamlined services, increased transparency, and improved civic engagement.

These initiatives also reflect the growing importance of Wayanad as a model constituency where sustainable development and community empowerment go hand-in-hand.
